Lip Filler
What is Lip Filling?
Lip augmentation is a method that provides the elimination of the lack of volume or some structural/proportional defects in the lip with small injections, and the clarification, filling and beautification of the lip contours. Before the application, the lips are anesthetized with anesthetic cream and/or injections, and the fillers are injected with very fine needles.
To Whom Can It Be Done?
Lips become thinner with age due to the decrease in collagen and elastin. Filling injection to the lips in elderly patients aims to provide natural folds to the lips, to reduce the lines on the lips, and to replace the lost volume. The same procedure is usually done in younger patients to improve the appearance by increasing the lip volume. It is used for fuller lips at a young age, and in the treatment of vertical lip wrinkles, age-related volume loss in the lips and sagging of the corner of the mouth in advanced age.
How is it done?
Lip augmentation is an injection process of approximately 5-10 minutes. First, the lip is anesthetized from certain points. Afterwards, an injection is made in a way that emphasizes the anatomical features of the lip, but without exaggerating it, in line with a certain anatomical plan. Lip filling is not simply squeezing the filling into the lip. It is an advanced injection that requires serious anatomy knowledge and aesthetic point of view.
There are many fillers that can be injected into your lips and around your mouth. However, the most commonly used fillers today are products containing hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. It helps to increase the volume on your lips. Hyaluronic acid filler can also be used in the treatment of post-operative, accidental and post-inflammatory scars on the lips, or asymmetrical or insufficiently voluminous lips.
Usage Areas of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers can improve the appearance of your lips by adding:
Shape
Structure
Volume
Its effect usually lasts for about 9-12 months. It is not a permanent application. Depending on the lack of volume in the lip and the expectation of the person, more than one injector can be applied.
What is Russian Technique Lip Filling?
The Russian technique emphasizes the cupid's bow to resemble a heart shape by injection volumizing and lifting it to the middle of the lips, while the sides still remain relatively flush with the face. The result is doll-like, while naturally looking and feeling plump. This look allows the middle of the lips to be voluminous instead of adding volume to the entire lip.
What is the Difference Between Standard Technique and Russian Technique Lip Filling?
Typically, standard lip fillers are injected horizontally into the lip, resulting in an evenly distributed volume and fullness effect. However, to apply the Russian filling technique, a small amount of filler should be injected vertically by choosing a smaller syringe and focusing on the center of the lips. Another important difference is that the Russian lip augmentation technique aims to elevate the lip by focusing on the center, thus providing a heart-shaped appearance, rather than giving an overall fullness to the lips.
Is Russian Technique Lip Filling Permanent?
Because everyone's body is different, it is difficult to make a comprehensive statement about how long the effect of a temporary procedure will last. However, for most patients, the effect of Russian technique lip augmentation varies between 6-12 months.
When Do Lips Reach Their Final Look?
You can see immediate results with lip augmentation, but when the swelling goes down, the result may not look as obvious as before. It usually takes about 4 weeks for the filler to set and achieve the desired appearance. Results are usually permanent for about 9-12 months. Applications such as smoking, thyroid gland diseases, sunbathing, Turkish bath, sauna affect the permanence of lip augmentation.
How Long Does Temporary Lip Filling Stay in the Body? No Persistence?
The length of time the fillers stay in the body varies according to the brand, the thickness of the filler, and the rate at which your body dissolves it. A little bit remains during each application. Thus, the application time is extended. The application should generally be repeated every 9 to 12 months. Permanent filling is not preferred because of its side effects.
How Much Lip Filling Do You Need?
In lip applications, 1 to 4 ml is usually made. The amount varies depending on the length, thinness of the lip and the patient's request. Sometimes a second syringe can be administered one week after the first 1 ml is administered.
Will Asymmetry On My Lip Be Corrected?
Many people's lips are not completely symmetrical. Smoking or mimicry can cause asymmetry to sleep on the same side of the face all the time. Most of the time, our patients may not be aware of this. Considering this situation, the application should be made. A very experienced doctor should be preferred to eliminate asymmetries.
Will it be obvious that I have lip augmentation?
Many of our patients do not want it to be obvious that their lips have been filled, they prefer the natural lip appearance. Everyone's lip structure, social position, make-up style, nose-lip relationship, expectation, chin shape are different. For this reason, the best results are obtained if a lip filling suitable for the face structure of the person is made in proportion to the other parts of the face.
