The test is simply based on the recognition of various odors at different concentrations. Some familiar smells or flavors are tasted by the patient and the answer is confirmed. At the same time, a person's sense of taste can be controlled by some electrical methods.
How to Treat Smell and Taste Disorder?
Treatment is planned for or for the condition causing the smell and taste disorder.
If the source of the disturbance in the senses is sinus and nasal diseases, these diseases should be treated. If it is caused by structural defects in the nose, the problem can be resolved with surgical interventions. If the drugs used cause sensory loss, it is recommended to stop or change the drugs. If there is exposure to chemicals, it is recommended to stay away from them.
